Community Structures
Why
Beyond secure housing, migrants and slum residents lack access to public resources and services to improve their lives. While NGOs and charities work in these communities, they require space for their services - from classrooms for children to waste collection facilities, livelihood training centers, community workspaces, healthcare clinics, and community centers for marginalized members of the community. Adequate housing represents a foundation of stability for migrants or other BOP families. Community structures house the services, networks, and organizational activities that promise a stairway to upward societal mobility.
